IMPOSSIBLE MATCH | COPA DAVIS BY XIAOMI
Projection mapping on Tennis court
We wanted to surprise the attendees with a never-before-seen show: a unique tennis match on a projected court that constantly changed shape and size, becoming a completely surreal match. For that we created the visual content for a very special tennis court that, thanks to technology, managed to make the impossible possible: challenging and putting a tennis legend between the ropes, who had to face not only several rivals but also the track itself.
Brief:
Xiaomi wanted to create a groundbreaking experience at Copa Davis, pushing the boundaries of sports and technology. The goal was to surprise the audience with an "Impossible Match"—a surreal tennis game where the court itself became an unpredictable opponent.
Process:
To bring this idea to life, we designed and developed visuals that transformed the court in real-time, constantly shifting its shape, size, and textures. Using projection mapping and 3D techniques to play with perspective, we seamlessly merged the digital and physical worlds, creating an ever-changing battleground. The challenge was set: a tennis legend had to adapt not only to multiple opponents but also to a court that refused to play by the rules.
Result:
The final show delivered an unforgettable spectacle that blended sport, technology, and entertainment. The audience witnessed a never-before-seen match where the impossible became possible, reinforcing Xiaomi’s innovative spirit and leaving a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.
